Choosing AAISM training is harder than choosing CISSP or CISM training, for one very simple reason: the credential is new, and nobody — no bootcamp, no online course, and not us — has enough certified candidates behind them to show you a real pass rate. Anyone who claims one, ask them how they calculated it. That one question sorts the market fast.

So this page compares what can actually be compared: format, duration, what's included, who teaches, what it costs, and — most important — which kind of candidate each model genuinely suits. Please understand, we build AAISM training ourselves, so we're not neutral. What we can be is accurate. Every fact below comes from each provider's own published pages, with the access date recorded, and where a competitor is the better choice for your situation, this page says so plainly — because sending you to the wrong programme helps nobody, least of all us.

The Official Route

Start by knowing the official route exists

Before comparing third-party providers — including us — you should know that ISACA runs its own AAISM virtual workshop. It is delivered as two full days or four half days, and enrolment bundles the AAISM Review Manual (eBook edition), the official Questions, Answers and Explanations database (QAE), and the exam cost itself. (Source: isaca.org, accessed August 2026.)

That is a genuinely complete package from the organisation that writes the exam, and if you want everything from one official source, it is a reasonable place to start your research. What the workshop format does not provide is extended preparation time or individual coaching — it is an intensive review, and like every intensive option on this page, it works best for candidates who arrive already comfortable with the AI-specific material.

We do not compare ourselves against ISACA. They own the credential. Every provider below, including us, is preparing you for their exam.

Note for planning: ISACA changed product access periods from 12 months to 6 months across exams, QAE databases, and online review courses, effective April 2026. Whatever you buy from ISACA directly, plan your study and exam window around a six-month clock.

The bootcamp model

Choose this if: you need the exam behind you fast, your employer is funding it, and the Domain 3 material — model architectures, TEVV, the AI life cycle — is already familiar territory. Two to three intensive days compress the syllabus into a sprint, and Training Camp and QA bundle the exam voucher so there is one invoice and no separate ISACA purchase. This is the right model for a meaningful share of candidates — pretending otherwise would be dishonest, so we won't.

Be realistic about: a bootcamp reviews the material; it can't build a foundation that isn't there. Please understand this clearly — if 38% of the exam covers territory you've never worked in, three days is a review of things you haven't yet learned. Take the honesty check below before you book.

The self-paced model

Choose this if: you are disciplined, budget-conscious, and comfortable directing your own study. The cost of entry is a fraction of any live option, Sutra's material volume is genuinely large, and lifetime access means no clock running against you. Self-study has carried plenty of disciplined people through ISACA exams — that's just a fact.

Be realistic about: nobody is checking whether you actually studied, sequencing is your job, and when you're stuck at 9 p.m. on adversarial risk treatment, the answer arrives on a forum's schedule, not yours.

The coached model

Choose this if: you are a working professional, the AI-specific material in Domain 3 is new to you, and you want structure, accountability, and a named coach across the whole preparation — not two days of it. The 50-day plan is weighted to the exam's 31/31/38 domain split, opens with an AI literacy primer before the syllabus starts, and produces work artifacts you keep.

Be realistic about: 50 days is a commitment, there is no exam voucher bundled, and if you need to test this month, this is the wrong model — choose a bootcamp.

Evaluate providers the way you'll be tested

Here's something a little funny about this decision you're making.

Choosing an AAISM training provider is a vendor due-diligence exercise — and vendor due diligence is literally Domain 2 of the exam you're about to sit. You already know how to do this. Apply the same discipline you'd apply to any security vendor: don't buy on capability claims and price, verify what's actually included, ask for evidence behind every number, and know exactly where their responsibility ends and yours begins.

Run this page through that lens and the comparison becomes very, very simple. A bootcamp's responsibility ends when the class ends — everything before and after is yours. A self-paced course's responsibility ends at the content — sequencing and discipline are yours. A coached programme takes on more of the journey, and charges accordingly. None of these is wrong. What's wrong is buying one model while expecting the responsibilities of another.

And one more thing, because it matters: any provider quoting you an AAISM pass rate today is failing the evidence test — the same test this exam will train you to apply to AI vendors. Start practising now.

Are you bootcamp-ready? A 60-second honesty check

Two to three days of intensive review is a genuinely good format — if the material is review for you. Domain 3 carries 38% of this exam, and it's where CISM and CISSP holders meet the most new ground. Answer these six honestly, without looking anything up:

1Can you name what each letter in TEVV stands for, and where it sits in the AI life cycle?
2Can you explain the three machine learning paradigms — and give one example algorithm for each?
3Do you know what a model card is, and who asks for it first?
4Can you describe how a GAN works — the two components, and what they do to each other?
5Do you know what drift is, and what a drift threshold triggers?
6In an AI vendor arrangement, do you know whose job it is to define the shared-responsibility boundary?

Five or six yes — Domain 3 is review for you. An intensive bootcamp is a legitimate, efficient choice — and if you want the voucher bundled, Training Camp or QA handles that in one invoice.

Three or four yes — you can go self-paced or intensive, but budget real self-study time before the class, not after it.

Two or fewer — please understand, this isn't a gap a two-day review closes. You need the foundation built first, either through disciplined long-form self-study or a coached programme that starts before the syllabus does. That's exactly the candidate we built the Day 0 primer for.

No provider has AAISM outcome data. Including us.

AAISM launched in August 2025. As of the last verification of this page, no training provider — not the bootcamps, not the self-paced courses, and not Cybernous — publishes an AAISM pass rate with a stated methodology behind it. There simply has not been enough time, or enough candidates through any single programme, for a defensible number to exist.

You will encounter pass-rate figures attached to AAISM training in blog posts and marketing summaries. Before any number influences your decision, ask the provider three questions:

1How many AAISM candidates is this rate calculated from?
2How do you know whether your students passed — verified results, or voluntary self-reporting?
3Is this rate for AAISM specifically, or carried over from your other certifications?

Credit where it is due: some providers in this comparison handle this honestly. DestCert, for example, publishes its pass-rate methodology and scopes the number to the programmes it actually measures. That is the standard every claim should meet.

What providers can legitimately show you is track record on adjacent credentials, clearly labelled as such. Ours is below, labelled exactly that way.

If you already work with AI systems daily — you've run model risk assessments, you know what TEVV is without looking it up — a three-day bootcamp will very likely get you through this exam, and Training Camp or QA will get you there faster than I will, with the voucher handled. I'd tell you that on the call, and I'd mean it.

If you're highly self-directed and cost is the deciding factor, Sutra Academy's material volume or a well-reviewed Udemy question bank plus the official Review Manual is a legitimate path. Plenty of disciplined people pass ISACA exams exactly that way, and you might be one of them.

There is no single best — the honest answer depends on your situation. If you need the exam done within weeks and hold a strong AI background, an intensive bootcamp such as Training Camp, QA, or DestCert fits best, and two of those bundle the exam voucher. If you are disciplined and budget-led, Sutra Academy or a Udemy course offers the lowest cost of entry with lifetime access. If you are a working professional meeting the AI-specific material for the first time, a coached programme with an extended timeline — the model Cybernous builds — fits that gap. Do the full maths, not just the course price — that’s how most candidates get surprised. Published training prices at last verification (August 2026): QA lists from $2,265; DestCert lists $1,797; Sutra Academy lists $147 on a launch offer against a $294 list price; Udemy courses typically sell between roughly $10 and $80 depending on promotions. Training Camp provides pricing on request rather than listing it publicly. Cybernous pricing is discussed on a consultation call rather than listed, because what you need depends on your background, your timeline, and whether you need the AI literacy layer — book a call and you’ll have a number in twenty minutes, with no obligation. Then add what every candidate pays regardless of provider: ISACA’s exam fee — US$459 for members, US$599 for non-members — plus the US$50 application fee, both paid directly to ISACA. And if your provider doesn’t bundle the official Review Manual and QAE (most don’t — check row 11 of the table), budget for those separately from ISACA too. Your real comparison is total journey cost, not sticker price.

Q3Which providers include the ISACA exam voucher?

At last verification, Training Camp and QA include the exam voucher in their bootcamp pricing. DestCert, Sutra Academy, Udemy courses, and Cybernous do not — with those providers you register and pay for the exam directly with ISACA. ISACA’s own workshop also bundles the exam cost.

Q4Do any providers publish an AAISM pass rate?

No provider in this comparison publishes an AAISM-specific pass rate with a stated methodology, and neither do we. The credential is too new for defensible numbers to exist anywhere. Some providers publish pass rates for their other certification programmes — treat those as evidence about the provider’s method, not about AAISM, and always check what a number actually measures before it influences your decision.

Q5Is a two-day AAISM bootcamp enough?

It depends entirely on what you bring to it. For a candidate who already works with AI governance and security — who knows the model life cycle, TEVV, and the major frameworks from practice — an intensive review plus the official QAE can absolutely be enough. For a candidate meeting that material for the first time, two days is a review of things not yet learned, and the 38% of the exam sitting in Domain 3 will expose the gap. Q6Should I just take ISACA’s own workshop?

It is a legitimate option worth having on your shortlist. ISACA’s virtual workshop bundles the Review Manual, the QAE database, and the exam cost — the most complete official package available. What it shares with every intensive format is limited duration and no extended individual coaching, so the same self-assessment applies: it suits candidates who arrive already comfortable with the AI-specific material and want an official, single-source route.

Q7Can I self-study for AAISM without any provider?

Yes. The ISACA Review Manual plus the official QAE database is a complete self-study foundation, and disciplined candidates pass ISACA exams that way regularly. What self-study does not provide is sequencing, accountability, or anyone to pressure-test your reasoning on scenario questions — which is precisely what the exam’s judgement-based items test. If you choose this route, build a schedule with real dates and sit at least one full-length timed mock before booking the exam.

Q8Which provider is best if I have no AI background?

This is the question where the models separate most sharply. Intensive formats assume the AI vocabulary is already in place — they review it at speed. Self-paced courses let you take the foundations slowly, but leave the sequencing to you; Sutra Academy’s opening modules do cover AI fundamentals. The Cybernous programme is the only option in this set built with a dedicated pre-syllabus AI literacy primer — a Day 0 layer before Domain 1 begins — which is exactly the gap a no-AI-background candidate needs closed first. Whichever provider you choose, do not skip the foundations and hope the frameworks make sense without them.

For a working professional, realistic preparation runs six to ten weeks of consistent study — the Cybernous programme formalises this as 50 days at about 1.5 hours a day. Candidates with deep AI security experience compress that dramatically, which is the honest case for the bootcamp model. Three planning constraints apply to everyone, whichever provider you choose: ISACA’s exam eligibility runs on a six-month clock from registration; appointments open ninety days ahead; and if you’re in India, Mainland China, or Hong Kong, remote proctoring isn’t available — you’ll sit the exam at a physical PSI test center, so factor the visit into your date. Work backward from a real exam date rather than studying open-ended.
